Time Turners for Muggles – Wood Watches!

“I mark the hours, every one, Nor have I yet outrun the Sun. My use and value, unto you, Are gauged by what you have to do.” – The Prisoner of Azkaban, J.K. Rowling.

Are you a watch person? Do you always take a glance at your watch and can never leave the house without the time on your arm? I’m not. Yup, you heard me. When I was younger my mom used to always make me wear watches to tell the time and she would tell me to “get used to it.” But you see I have this handy thing called a phone which I bring with me everywhere, and guess what? It tells time.

What’s my issue with watches? Mostly, I don’t care for the look of them or the feel of them, especially on me since I’m tiny and even a women’s watch can often end up big and clunky on me. It’s just like how I enjoy the whimsical, rustic, and sometimes very gritty fantasy genre rather than the technology future-heavy sci-fi, even though everyone lumps them together anyway. I want vast forests, towering castles, and cities lined with cobblestone streets! Not, well, metal.

Then I discovered something pretty amazing for a fantasy-loving bookie – wood watches. Yes, wooden watches are a thing! I received a beautiful wood watch from JORD Watches (this one to be exact) and my first thought was: “I could totally pair this with my Harry Potter Time Turner,” which naturally told me it was a winner.

What has me feeling different about this one? Well the dark sandalwood gives me that aesthetic old library vibe, which everyone knows I’m a sucker for, and it’s just dark enough to feel a little edgy; you really can’t go wrong with an edgy outfit. The pop of slate grey is noticeable but will definitely go with anything I wear, too. The best part is I can actually wear it – it’s not huge and heavy on my arm! There’s no clunkiness here. And don’t worry guys, there are options for a sleek men’s wooden watch, too!

Plus, the best part about my particular style, the Frankie 35, is that it can also be personally engraved. Yes, you heard me. Whether it’s a women’s wooden watch or a unique men’s watch, you want to tell your soulmate to go “Rattle the stars” or your med school bestie that “You’re my person?” Go for it! Also, props to you if you understand either of those references. My watch has the Shakespeare line from the play A Midsummer Night’s Dream:

And though she be but little, she is fierce.

Not all the styles can be engraved, but I think it’s so much more personal. I like that it feels like the watch is mine. And even if you don’t pick one that can be engraved, they have some pretty cool watches anyway! And I definitely know I’ll be wearing mine, mostly because no one else I know has one that can hold a candle to it and it’s very me.

On another note they are JORD Watches is also also running a little giveaway! The details are below, and on that note, have a good one!
